Solar Plex

ALright I was looking for that newbie thread, but his will have to do.

I went to the gym tonight for some light stretching and to take the cycling class. Heh. anyways I was in the stretching area and I heard this guy with his buddy talking. (note. they were doing the good ole' we played football in jr high and haven't worked out since, but we want to look cool stretching first thing)..

Anyways, he starts talking about how he really wants to work on his solar plex and how if he could just devolop his solar plex he would look great and his abs would show He said his Solar Plex used to look great just like a BB, if he just would of kept up his workout routine.

I'm not up on my anatomy, but I don't think that there is any muscle or group of muscles called the solar plex. I thought it was a bundle of nerves in your stomach or something.

Anyone have any ideas of how a guy would get an idea such as this, or am I off base?

The celiac plexus (solar plexus) is actually a grouping of nerves in the abdomen. So i have no idea what muscles that guy THINKS the "solar plexus" is. He's obviously referring to some muscle or other, doesnt know what its called, so gives it a name he heard Jim Ross refer to on WWE.

Jackass :P.

In wrestling (WWE style) it's popular to call a hit to the abdomen a hit to the solar plexus.

"in the howling bleeding nights, the dogs plunge into the Volga and swim desperately to gain the other bank. The nights of Stalingrad are a terror for them. Animals flee this hell; the hardest stones cannot bear it for long; only men endure."

I always thought the solar plexus was a bit of cartilage that when hit, would make the victim keep over immediately.

No Milk, no.
Milk is for babies. When you grow up, you have to drink beer.
