    Unhappy CG Bench Press Dropped?!

    Ok listen to this shit..

I used to be able to rep (well maybe 6 reps) of 245lbs of close grip bench pressing. Now 185-195lbs gives me a run for my money.

When I could get that weight up, I did have an arm day. Now I dont and havent for months.

My bench has gone up, along with my shoulder presses. It seems that my compounds have all gone up.

Now this doesnt surprise me, but I did think that if my arms DIDNT get stronger, theyd keep their strength.

The only volume my arms get are maybe 2 exercises after BOTH upper days. 2 sets each. Bare in mind, they are like 2x10-12 reps, but if I want my strength gains to return, can I drop the reps and increase the intensity? I ask cuz it may be a day where my upper compounds are in the 8-12 range. ...So why would arm workouts be less reps? Is it a bad idea?

    E.g.

    Bench Press 4x6-8
    DB Row 4x6-8
    Incline DB Press 3x8-12
    Yates Row 3x8-12
    Skullcrushers 2x4-6?
    DB Curls 2x4-6?

(This is for a mass workout. Considering thats what I was training for when I CG Benched 245lbs, why would it be different now?)
    6' 217lbs (10/18)
    Bench 365 (12/3)
    Weighted Pullups 80lbs 3x3 (3/19)
    Squat 370
    Deadlift after herniation 385lbs 3x3 (3/17)

So your bench went up, but CG when down?

How are you doing on the other triceps dominant exercises?

Tricep dominant as in single joint movements?

Well for skullcrushers, I think I have kept that strength. Then again, I am always tired before I get to skullcrushers, which is why the volume and intensity is so low.

Dips are up too. It seems only one that went down was CG Bench. Its not the end of the world, but I want that strength back!

How wide is your grip when you to your regular Bench Press?

Hmm. Did you separate your arm day from your upper body day when you where doing the 245 CGs? You said you are pretty spent by the time you get to CG Benchs, that may be the factor right there.

My arm day would be different than my upper days.. Then again I used to train body parts. Insane volume actually...and it worked.

My grip during regular benching is pinkies on the rings. During CG, my pinkies are just outside the...brailed(?) sections, so theyre about 6-8inches between my fists.

Technique could be questioned, but I have never changed it. I dont do CG all that often either, even when I pushed that weight. Id do it once every 2 weeks or less.
