    running 7 days a week

last year I was in good shape, and this year, well I want to be in shape again. problem is, during the winter I put on a little blubber. Not much, last winter was worse.

I want to just burn the body fat, so I do cross-trainer for 1 hour at my Target heart rate on tuse, thurs, and saturday

should I run 7 days a week? maybe a half hour before my freeweight work outs? I heard its not good to run and work out or you lose muscle mass. Problem is I am upset I put on blubber around my stomach and I want it GONE now.

You're 175 lbs? How tall are you?

I'd wager if that's your current weight then you will see much better results from adjusting your eating habits than doing 7 days a week of cardio. You would actually be better off lifting and you'll look that much better.

And I'm a high level runner and I wouldn't run 7 days a week. Your body needs time to recover from running.
Today I can do what others will not so that tomorrow I will do what others cannot.

The difference between winners and losers is that winners do things that losers don't want to do.

I used to run everyday over the summer about 6 or 7 years ago and I was lean as hell, but as for maintaining a good level of lbm it was impossible for me. However others can do it. And as PB said your body always needs to time to recoop!

I think it's a good idea to give your body at least 1 day of complete rest every week.

Better fix your diet. Diet > Weights > Cardio.

    I don't recommend running 7 days a week

Running every day would absolutely destroy my knees.

As a former cross country runner, I say don't run 7 days per week. I did 5 days + race day and one off, and still managed to fuck my shit up.

Rest is good. If anything, change up the type of cardio. Maybe swim or bike a day or two instead of running.

Dont just hop back into running, if that's what you plan on doing.. If you haven't ran, start out small.. Hell, start out walking.

Unless of course, you like shin splints. My personal favorite. Walk the first week, jog the next 2, run from there on out. But not 7 days a week. Your joints will curse at your, maybe not immediatly, but most definetly undeniably.

Also, have a pool nearby? Free-style / C-Breaststroke is a great way to get a good lbm. No joke, try swimming for a couple cycles between your runs. You'll thank me
