    legs itch after working out

Does this happen to anyone else? After a tough legs workout (cardio or weights), my legs itch the next day. What the hell causes that? Specifically, it's the inner thighs just above the knees. It seems to happen to me pretty regularly following legs workouts.

I welcome any thoughts and smart ass remarks.

Probably you are sweating and that's causing the laundry detergent you use for your underwear/workout shorts/pants to aggravate your skin or something...

Dude, seriously, my legs are itching like hell today. It's not a simple skin itch, either, it's like a deep muscle itch and scratching doesn't help. AHHHHHHH!!!!!!

I hit the legs pretty hard last night at teh gym.

sometimes itching can be (not saying this is necessarily so in your case) a neural issue (like a nerve is impinged by a disk or an osteophyte) and it can give you that "itchy feeling". Trigger points also can cause referral patterns that don't feel like pain, but feel more like an "itch".

I've read of both pressure- and cold-induced urticaria wherein the symptoms are postponed by at least 18 hours after the stimulus. I see no reason why this could not also be the case for exercise-induced urticaria.

    It's surprisingly common.

My hands itch if I stay too long in a hot tub.
