    Achilles heel

I have been concentraiting on my running and cardio side of things lately and have completed a few 10 mile and 10 k races. Since running ive had a few problems ie, back, knee and ankle but have had them all sorted out by a physio who said all my problems were musculer related, tight hamstrings no flexability and a very week lower back, which is my fault due to thinking that i should avoid any sort of exercise that hit my back would make it worse...Since going to my physio i realized how bad my flexability and posture were and have made gains with all my streching and general exercises i do. When running on the treadmill i noticed that my posture was very stiff and have loosened up especially my shoulders but i also noticed that my feet/ankles were very stiff which did cause me to have shinsplints. I changed the way i ran letting my ankles have more movement as i was also running slightly flat footed sometimes. I have better running shoes and have seen my times come down in my races but recently have had pains in mt left achilles especially first thing in the morning. There is no pain when running and it all feels loose and easy but is so stiff and tight in the mornings it is really getting me down as most articles i read say REST....ive got races comming up and obviously dont want to rest...any ideas advice good or bad please....

Maybe you should try some good shoe inserts.

Do a morning warm-up routine with dynamic stretching, and maybe some foamrolling.
