Post Width of the bench....

ok so tonight i just got done cleaning weightroom(mine) and i dug out an old old old bench of mine. it is about 8-10" wide. and i done a few sets of incline and flat. i got a great ROM. better than i did on my newest adjustable bench. now i was wondering what would be better doing presses on? a bench thats 8-10" wide or a bench thats 15-17" wide?

I dont think I've used a 17" wide bench - mine is about 8-10 and I get full rom from it. It seems to me a wider bench would restrict ROM at the low end...

I'm 34 - when am I officially an old fart?

It would seem to me that a wide bench woudl eventually restrict range of motion, because your arms would hit the edge of the bench of the way down. Also to take into account here is that people are differnt widths, and there are different benchs made for them. I prefer the 10" version my gym uses. 15" would be too wide for me personally..

I do my best to focus on the task at hand, and give 100% in what I'm doing at the time. Nothing else matters except the task at hand.
