Unhappy Best ways to attack HIT?

I've done the elliptocal in the past, I found I how it was really easy to change resistance and incline and speed/slow tempo down...but I'm getting bored of it. What are other great ways to attack HIT? I'm thinking of trying the stair-stepper machine...

Have you ever interval trained on the local High School track? When my gym was closed (hours weren't the best), I'd go to the school and sprint along the turns and jog the straight-aways or vice versa. Worked well.

    Eliptical
    incline treadmill
    run/jog
    bike with resistance adjustment

Whatever you enjoy, and will keep doing.
