For those that have watched my posts and my weekly bitching about dips. I finally decided to just say phuck it and get away from the weight assisted dips.
I took a slightly wider grip and felt it in my upper chest hard core. I made sure I came down slowly, but not super slow. Above all else my mission was control. Being my first body weight excercise I learned two important things today. #1 I'm a heavy bitch, and #2 I just don't push myself to my full potential.
First set was surprisingly easy for the first three reps, then it felt like somebody grabbed onto my ankles but I still go two more reps out. So I put my feet down and I'm jacked!! The next two sets were the same as the first, except that person holding onto my ankles was there for all five reps. I was shaking like a meth head looking for a fix, but I didn't care. I was doing it damn it. I told myself before that "gym image" doesn't mean anything to me, but I suppose until today I didn't really put that out of my mind. I felt super comfortable today and can't wait to get back there.
I do my best to focus on the task at hand, and give 100% in what I'm doing at the time. Nothing else matters except the task at hand.

If I were you I would keep your push days simple
OH press- standing 3-4 sets of 8-10 reps
Dips- do as many sets as it takes to do 50
Regular pushups- do as many sets as it takes to do 100
You could do them as a superset or separately.
In my opinion you don't even need to do bench work.
Honestly, at your weight doing that will do a lot for you. You have a lot of mass to move. That will give you a very strong base.
You will get super strong in your core from doing those three movements.

Id like to know who put it in the rule book that ANYONE who wants to build muscle "has to' do dips??? Ive never done a dip in my life, and dont plan on it!! There are plenty of other movements for triceps that are LESS EVASIVE to the shoulders, so u go head and GET ON WIT U BAD SELF hunny, build football tris and fuck the dips!!
I have did dips all of my life and love them. The thing about this fella is he is in it for health, not for bodybuilding. Dips are a great compound exercise and I am pretty sure I have never heard anyone say they have never did em. While I respect your opinion about you dont like em, I still say they are fantastic! I load plates onto my dips and after I am done, I feel like I did much more than I do after a bench session!
Personally form me it was a bench mark of sorts. I've been struggling with them for three months and now I finally have the strength for them. I've got a long road to travel and many goals to conquer along the way. This was just the first. At no point was I told that I HAVE to do dips, it was something that I personally wanted. Next goal is body weight pull ups, which I haven't tried yet but intend to next back day. Who knows I surprise myself.
I do my best to focus on the task at hand, and give 100% in what I'm doing at the time. Nothing else matters except the task at hand.
Lets assume equally wide grips and all. Which is a better excercise and why. We'll assume the general goal here is strength building.

Pullups are far more superior to pulldowns. There are tons and tons of articles around. Do a search you will find em!

Yeah, theyre a compound. Chest, Triceps, Shoulders...
They also rule!

Nice going Uthinkso
Dips and Chinups are two awesome exercises, and are by no means easy, so its great you're making a point of including them in your program. The results and ego-boost you'll get from doing them will be well worth the effort!

I have found lately that a lot of women don't like dips. I personally hate them and never do them. I'm sure they're a great exercise though.
