Rest Intervals: How do you time yours?

Do you time them or go by how your body feels?

I tend to go by my body or I use setting up the next peice of equipment for my rest. But it's usually no more than 1 minute to 90 seconds.
    Know the Rules:

I feel like I'm the only person in my gym that actually watches the clock on the wall. If I don't I tend to get antsy and start the new set too quickly.

I should just get a digital watch...

If you're new to weight training, or if you're on a routine that requires specifically timed RIs, use a watch. Otherwise, you'll know when you're ready to go again.

Right now, it's pretty easy for me to time mine...I don't really have any.

I use a kitchen timer. I WO at home so no one gives me any goofy looks about it. I do not use it to the second, but when I want to shorten my RIs it allows me to have a good idea how much time has gone by. I also tend to loose track of time when my dogs want me to pet them between sets. I should just get a big clock with a second hand.

When I travel for work and use a comercial gym, they usually have large clocks on the walls with a sweeping second hand or some have a digital with the seconds flashing away. I will use that as my gauge.

I don't time my rest intervals. I'm going to get a watch when I'll do a German Volume Training program though.

I think it would be a good change for once. I'll try 3-4 weeks of HIT and 3-4 weeks of GVT.

if I'm in an endurance phase of training I go less than 45 secs. other than that from 3-5 minutes
I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.

So you stopped timing sex because you were getting depressed?

How do you relate static things like stretching and isometrics to sex?

This might be something for you:

When I first saw this thread I just thought "with my watch, der" but then I realised when I train with my partner on 8 rep+ stuff, we just switch back and forth with a little rest depending on the situation, using tempo/reps as a guide for how long the set took, still keep an eye on the watch though.

Strength stuff is strictly timed with a cheap ass digital watch.

^ i tend to use mp3's (pre-loaded at certain tempos/lengths) or the random gym music shite to time things if i cannot get a look-in at a watch.
