So I took delivery of my Newgrip gym 'gloves' this week and tried them in the gym for the first time today. If you're nat familiar with them - you can see them here Weight Lifting Gloves - Weightlifting Gloves - FREE s&h
They promised great things including, increased power, more reps, less 'stink' and heat on the hands etc - I have to say though, when it comes down to it they are simply the rubber off the back of a mousemat, a nylon wrist strap and some velcro.
They simply didnt deliver any of the advantages that they claimed on their site and in fact I found the palm of my hands ended up sweatier than they get with gloves!
They also make positioning for grip with more difficult and they simply dont deliver the additional 'power' they elude to. I do though not doubt that they would reduce callouses because of how thick the 'rubber' is.
The next big test is whether they honour they're 90 day money back guarantee or not! who knows?
