    Pro style dumbells

I ordered what I thought would be 110 Ib. dumbells for my home but the plates themselves add up to 110 Ibs. and when you add the handle on to it they turn out to be 118 Ib. dumbells. Yet they say 110 on the end. Not really what I wanted. Are all the pro style dumbells like that? Kind of dumb to paint 110 on the side when it weighs 118. Not happy that the bar protrudes a half inch from the last plate too, that won't feel good sitting on the thighs. Hopefully, I can return these.

Anyone know of a place to buy dumbells over 100 Ibs. that actually weigh what they say?

I know play it again sports has them up to about 120. They are a pretty big chain, I think. They've got several different kinds like the cast iron kind and the kind you mentioned without a bar sticking out of the side. That really sucks.

Did you actually weigh the DBs to verify the weight? Is it possible that the plates are different than what you think they are?

Yeah, I weighed them. Even on the packing slip it has the handle weighing 8.4 pounds. I weighed my 100 Ib. hex dumbells and they indeed weighed 100 Ibs. I ordered from ironcompany.com. Don't think I'll be ordering from there again.

No problem. They usually have pretty good deals on most things. On of the cheapeast places I've found to buy weights around here anyway.
