I'm believe that you were burning glucose (blood sugar). You have to deplete that before your body will start to take it from fat stores.
Keep in mind that I'm not Jodi (hell, I'm not even her dirty sock), but that's my understanding of it.

So many cries of inequality stem from one of group
of people doing little or nothing and then bitching
about another group that actually does something
to improve their lives.

Yeah if there is a "burning zone." Might have to do with heart rate as well, but that should be up in under 20minutes, maybe even 10.

Doesn't matter where you are burning calories from. What you need to focus on is calories expended and creating a deficit through diet. Your body will lose fat stores with a reasonable diet, the so called fat burning zone is meaningless.
"in the howling bleeding nights, the dogs plunge into the Volga and swim desperately to gain the other bank. The nights of Stalingrad are a terror for them. Animals flee this hell; the hardest stones cannot bear it for long; only men endure."
No, actually, you burn more fat at rest and lower intensities, as you get closer to your maximum intensities, fat cannot provide the energy fast enough. Time has nothing to do with it, that whole 20 mins thing is BS, meant to get you to burn more total calories by doing low quality work for over 20 minutes.
If sense were common, everyone would have it.
