Article on "Spoon" Bodies
I came across this article on "Spoon" bodies eDiets.com - Sorry, your browser is not compatible! and at the end of it they talk about the do's and don't's of exercise selection for this body type(mostly a womans body type). Some I agree with and some I don't.
Just wondering what everyones take on it is? |

Agreed.
Someone needs to explain calories and fat to this guy and that people have this thing called a "metabolism" that doesn't select which parts of the body to keep fat and which parts to lose it. |

Well actually Beta adrenergic receptor distribution DOES partly contribute to fat proliferation in the body. Where these receptors accumulate, so does the fat....which partly explains how someone can be quite thin on top and have saddlebags. You don't get to pick where these receptors go, but they do contribute to body shape (as far as fat deposits are concerned).
The body shaping idea presented in that article is pure crap though (IMO). *edit* Ha, one of the first PhD's to not look like an out of shape old man (that was surprising): ![]() ![]() |
