    Are you a screamer?

Ok I have this image in my head of lifting heavy wieghts and having like a warcry to push yourself through an exercise.

However, when I lift a heavy weight... lets say i do a big squat (ATG)... when i get a big wieght i cant just push myself harder, its like my muslce just cant push.. i try and it just doesnt get moving. Is this normal or does everyone have mind over matter?

Its just when attempt to lift big weights its very anti climactic... i just stop moving and have to give up.

If you ever scream while doing bicep curls, please, kill yourself.

Not screaming per se but sometimes on a last rep with heavy weight
    a little animal noise helps.

Screamers are ghey, rude, and retarded. There is no reason to scream to lift. If you want to psych yourself out, lift at your house or something.

I grunt and such but i don't think i do it obnoxiously loud, although when i'm pushing myself with metallica blasting in my ears i might be a bit louder than usual. Nothing gym rattling though, the worst i do when psyching myself up is slapping my face/calves, that gets weird looks but not like a loud scream.

I don't scream or yell really. Back squats and 1RM deads are the only things that warrant noise to me. I don't seem to do it on anything else.

Screaming while lifting is ghey. As most people do when going to failure, you might be breathing so hard that you let out a little grunt. Anything beyond that is unnecessary and exerts energy that had you not screamed you'd probably would have been able to complete the set.

Arthur Jones would always stress relaxing your face and body when going to failure. When you tighten your face and make all sorts of animal calls to try and entice Don't Stop to show us her tits, you're only using energy that could put be used to get the weight from point a to point b.

I don't usually scream but theres a gym that just opened up near me, and theres a no grunting rule, theyve actually kicked out several people who broke this rule, i think its a little ridiculous, one day when i have nothing to do i think im gunna go over there and just scream as loud as i can.

On very rare occasion, I grunt when getting a last rep... no where near a scream.

I used to go to a gym where this guy, who was a chiropractor, was definitely a 'screamer'. This guy used to start grunting and hollering BEFORE he unracked the weight! Then during the set he screamed throughout. Watching this dickhead do this with a set of 225 squats had to be, one of the funniest things I've ever seen in my life.

Nor I. I was grunting or even...crying. At least it sounded like it when I did negative based workouts. Usually on Rows.

I don't make a peep at the gym, I do however pace a little bit before a set I know is going to be hard. More like a nervous thing than anything tho..

there was a guy at the gym the other day who was hissing. he would walk around and hiss.. "tss... tsss" to psyche himself up for about 3 minutes, then he would hiss while he deadlifted too.

I was about to tell him to stfu but then i realized he was a huge black guy deadlifting 450 for reps and would have kicked my ass instantly.

then i saw him hissing on the wide grip pulldown and he lost some of my respect.
