it's actually 394lbs if he adds it up correctly. Yes, I'm that bored. Got to give him credit, he is thorough.

398 is what I came up with. I'mma just do the right thing here and round it up the two pounds and call it what it is ... a 400 pound bench at (if you read the comments he just turned 16) 16 years of age. Infuckingsane ...

If this kid does MMA he'll get a shot from Dana White for the UFC tittle in a few weeks

I'm not quite sure how it could be fake. I mean he weighed each plate in a single shot. No offense towards him, but he doesn't seem smart enough to pull a fast one like that.

You're probably right, I just tried to remember each weight at the end of the video. I'd call it 400 also.

I have a few problems with the video.

1. Why would he do a max lift and video tape it all by himself?
2. I've seen people that can bench 500lbs not able to move a bar with 350lbs. around as easily as he was able to slide 400 around when it was racked.
3. His form was poor. I noticed his elbows flaring pretty badly, not only that but he looked like he had a few reps left in him.
4. There appeared to be minimal tension on the bar when he racked it. Even 315lbs makes the bar flex a bit.

This is bullshit. Sorry guys.

Cause he's 15 and isn't smart enough to have a spotter present.

It was a joke, heh. He did lift his ass off the bench though. That's not a legal lift. Still impressive, just saying...

I don't know if it is fake or not. But I do know that if you look at his other posts, he had a video where he did 300 for 4 reps. That would put him around a 330-340lb bench press, and that was done 4 weeks prior to the 370. So he basically increased his bench by 30-40lbs in that time?

Not sure what to think.....I have no reason to think its fake. Seems kind of un-real to a degree, but that could be my jealousy that this kid doesn't have a drivers license and can bench more than me.

I totally agree with your #2 comment. He just grabbed that bar and pushed it forward with no problem at all. I know for a fact that "rolling" a bar with 300+ pounds on it into your starting position is a lot harder than he made it look.

I also think I agree with #4, I would have expected to see some kind of flex in the bar, or plates bouncing around more.

Who knows if it is real or not, it just *looked* suspicious, that's all. If it was real, then damn, he is super strong and we will hear the name Toby cook in powerlifting circles in the coming years, that will be the big point, cause, I don't know how many 15 year olds bench 370, shit it took me till 32 to hit 365, so we'll see if we hear from him in the future

Hmmm... well it sure as hell looks real! I know that with audio editing software you can splice a piece of music in to cover mistakes. Not sure about video editing though...

I know that plates aren't ever perfectly weighted, but how does it work that he has pairs of plates each at a different weight? 46 is only one pound more than 45, but 53 is way too big of a difference. Likewise, the 35lbers were identical.

I think that this was too much of a coincidence for the weight to be real. I don't doubt that the kid is strong, but I have my doubts as to how real it is. He spins the bar really easily too.
