I tried doing them. Wasnt pretty. I was told to try them again but put my heels against the wall.

If youre an average person with average balance, then youll need a wall to glide upon. When I faced the wall, my damn toes dragged along the wall.

Ive only ever done 3. Like Akira said, against a wall.

I found they put a LOT of undue stress on the shoulders. You think dips are bad, these were horrible.

Why in the hell are they called 90 degrees> It is a vertical movement so your arms would be at a 180 degree angle with your body, also known as a straight line. A regular push-up is a 90 degree angle. Your arms are perpendicular to the body...awe who cares.

I do them. They are the upper body squat. They work a lot more than just your shoulders too. I love them. There are a lot of ways to do them. Doing them with your hands raised on something like two crates or chairs to increase your range of motion is very tough. To start just doing them so your head touches the ground will be hard enough for most people. If you do them against a wall the best way to do them is to flip up into a handstand with the back of your head facing the wall, keeping your body as straight as possible, that way if you feel yourself falling you will either fall back into the wall or land back on your feet in the starting position.

Body is 90 degrees to the ground. Perpendicular as opposed to somewhat parallel for a normal pushup.

However, I agree that the name is stupid and hardly obvious as to what it's describing.
