BODYBUILDING SUPPLEMENTS High Quality Supplements For Bodybuilders and Athletes. www.ironmaglabs.com I am not sure whether this question is appropriate here or not. But anyway, is anybody familiar with Peter Sisco's Power Factor/Static Contraction training (www.precisiontraining.com)? Could anyone comment (if not appropriate publicly, please send pm or email, thx)?

I have his book "Power Factor Training". I don't follow it religiously, but I use the partial rep method alot to bust thru a plateau. I also use 1 set of partials at the end of a set to make sure 100% of the muscle is fatigued.

I haven't got any of his book. From various materials on his site, I gather that Power Factor is a method to measure the intensity of a weight training, in terms of weight_lifted_in_a_set / time_taken_for_the_set. And Static Contraction I think is like holding the weight staticly in the middle of a rep, and this is supposed to effectively increase muscle mass and strength. All these are said to be discussed fully but briefly in his ebook "Train Smart!"
I just wanna know if anybody here has any opinion on the above two concepts. Are they valid? Are they effective? - Josh |

a lot of the training principles are sound especially in terms of increasing muscle, ligament and tendon tensile strength.
personally...I use one static contraction exercise for each body part and have for years. |
