putting fun into cardio

I really don't like working out like people say is the best way. I'm older and everything new just seems like recycled old. What I like is 5 rep increase weight until I fail. Then I like to work down in weight as I increase reps. Everything else is what other people do. I have no real goals. I like to hurt I like to burn. Muscles and health are just a bonus, just don't bore me. That's the way I'm made. In fact I'm getting to the point after a few short months of rediscovering weights I can't get sore. I like to get sore the next day or days. I like to push to the point of "I better stop or I'll be embarrassed if the aid unit shows up because I blacked out." If it happens like this it will be on squats.. it hurts so good : ).

Anyhow, I hate cardio, but could love it on my terms. It's BORING on bikes in a room etc. Bikes on a trail is fine if I had the time, I don't. If I try to stay at let's say 140 beats, I CAN'T STAND IT. I have to push past 160+ and back off.. over and over again. I don't like anything else. Before I got back on weights I'd hit the heavy bag 5 or six times a day as I took the dogs out for a piss. I did that for 6 years before I rediscovered weights. Earlier in life I trained in karate to the point of teaching classes.... boring boring boring.

So I'm thinking maybe someone like me has a routine where they hit/kick/elbow/knee the bag like I like but mixes it up with rope or something. I can't maintain it past a matter of a couple of minutes at the speed and power I like on the bag. Not to mention the fact my bags are outside in the Wa rain(they weigh like 200 lbs hehehe)I like that. But they freeze in Winter... don't like!! Here's my other problem... I'm in this gym that just has conventional cardio stuff, no bags or ropes just stupid classes for chicks. Should I approach the owner about heavy bags, I'll bring my own damn rope. Has anyone had any luck doing this, getting bags at the gym? I've got them at home but. It's better, it seems, to workout with others working out I've found.

got a few bags at my gym light and heavy, and a speed ball, if u got a running maching at ur gym, try doing this,
2 mins running fast, then straight on the heavy bag for 90 secs,
then on the runniong machine again for 2 mins, then speed bag 90 secs, go through that 3-4 times then just go between the speed bag and the heavy bag, 90-120 secs each with no rest,
hash but using dif muscles so u should be able to do it,
hurts though so good luck

Thanks : )

I've been thinking about getting a speed bag and hanging a heavy bag in the garage. I like what you say about running between striking the bag. I guess what I really would like is bags at the gym. I'll likely rehearse what I'll say to the owner and come off like I don't want but I think I'll try. I just can't get the motivation at home with the wife and kid's interruptions. That was the reason I have bags outside. I don't know why they always had to find some hassle to hit me with every time they heard me hit the bag when I did have it in the garage. I think they like to dominate and keep in check or something!!?????????
