    Couple Questions.

My first question is what is the best overall workout for your abs? Or could you tell me several workouts that are best for the abs?

My other question: My mom just started to go to the gym. She just does treadmills, bikes, and stairsteppers. But she has said that after her workouts she never feels good, like she has headaches. And I believe today her stomach didn't feel good. I did more cardio than her and I feel fine.....but she is 52 and overweight. What is wrong?

Just like every other muscle, to best work your core you need to hit it from all angles, doing all different types of movements.

I prefer medicine ball sit-ups on a decline bench, but I only am able to do those when I have a partner.

As far as your mother's headaches go, I really have no idea. It could be that her body just isn't used to it and that they'll go away with time.. or it could be that shes going from 0-60 right away. Perhaps start her off with some intense walking on an incline before going right into the treadmills, bikes and stairsteppers.

I think you might be right about her body not being used to it. She is probably the most unathletic person I know, haha. ""or it could be that shes going from 0-60 right away. Perhaps start her off with some intense walking on an incline"" What do you mean by that?

For my routine should I do shoulders and back on the same day? Is it best to do shoulders and back on the same day?

Maybe headaches are due to blood pressure? Get her to see a doctor about them.

As for core workout, get a good mix of both stability exercises (planks, side planks, supermans, birddogs etc) and strength based exercises (reverse crunches, v-ups, weighted side bends etc).

If you do get her to do the side bends, for gods sake make sure theyre light to start with. Theyre tough
