    Question biking and muscle growth

the past few months I have been biking because of my stressed shins, and have noticed crazy good muscle growth/strength since I have started. I've also noticed that the majority of the muscle has been developing on the quad right above the knee on the inside part of my leg. I was just wondering if this is the normal place for muscle from biking to develop? I know you can't train certain "parts" of muscles but for biking will overall development of the quad happen, because right now its noticably bigger than the other side.

I don't think it's the biking that makes your muscles grow. Unless you're doing ludicrous sprinting of course.

    Anyway, good job.

I do somewhat of a sprint...not along the lines of HIIT, but I do some mediochre (sp?) sprinting on the bike.

    and thanks

Some people's muscles grow bigger and stronger very easily. Bikes could do it for the lucky few. Long uphill rides on broken trails are the best for this on a mountain bike, IMHO.

Individual muscle growth may be limited in shaping but not compound muscle groups. You may be using one muscle or another in your quad more. When my legs get tired I change the angle of my pedaling naturally without thinking.... to use less taxed muscles. Whatever it takes to get the job done. Muscles are slaves to be whipped and trained anyway you like.
