I almost have to use gloves. I get the valor ones with the wrist support. they are great because I can wrap my straps around the wrist support and they don't rip all of the skin off of my wrist when I deadlift and shrug. My hands also stay tore up from my job.

I used to wear gloves, but dropped them because the smell was unbearable and I was having to buy new pairs too frequently.

When I washed them, the smell wouldn't even go away.

I love that smell. It reminds me of football when I would wear funky ass smelly gear for two weeks straight without washing it.

I actually didn't mind the smell either. It's like farting, everybody likes their own brand. I played hockey throughout my entire life and my bag, as well as myself (after games), reeked of body odor and sweat.

Still, my friends, girls, etc. found the gloves unbearable.

I used to wear gloves. Now I wear Versa Straps sparingly.

Cauliflower ear isn't caused by smelly clothes.

Used to wear gloves now I just use chalk or liquid chalk as I found the gloves were making things worse during deads.

no gloves. I find it hinders my gripping strength for some reason. never tried gloves with wrist support though.

I do whenever I do my pullups at home. I use the rafters as my pullup bar, so I dont want splinters.

Thanks, Kelju, for bringing back fond memories.

No gloves for me, though I do use chalk for DLs.

Damn, I am surprised that so many people are using them.

Gloves caused me uncomfortable callouses.

Not to mention, a friend never used them and when I asked him why (years ago), he said, "what if you forget them? your workout will suck. if you never use them, youll never need them."

That much is very true. If I forget any of my gear, mp3 player, gloves, straps, belt, chains, or stretchy pants for squats, I will have to go home to get them and come back.

I have blown out so many nice workout pants, because i forgot my stretchy pants on leg day. when those fuckers exploded, everybody stops and looks, because they know exactly what happened.

I used them for a few weeks but I didn't like them. Half the reason I go to the gym is to get my bare hands on some heavy metal. Hell I don't even like the plates that my gym has, the ones with the handles and the rubber coating. Fuck those things! I like my weights to clank and my hands to be calloused damn it.

I dont know what it is about gloves with me.

I wear them mainly so my hands dont get calloused to hell, but my hands still manage to get calloused somehow, even with the gloves.

Yet every now and again ill loosen them or take them off altogether...

Whatever.
