When was the last time that you took a break or a week or more?

What is your diet like (cals, macro percentages, etc.)?

Go for - "add weight and and try to get as close to 7 reps as possible?"

Its all about triggering a need for your body to grow - you sure you're eating enough?

I'm 34 - when am I officially an old fart?

What does your program look like?

More than likely this is the problem.

Take a week off to recoop and put something new together.

Have you ever lifted anything but 7 repetition sets? You need to change around your loading parameters to prevent stagnation. If you are looking to get stronger, then I suggest starting by doing a small volume of even heavier lifting (3x3, 4x4, 3x5, etc.)
