Sore Back Muscle/s After Chest Day
The soreness in my back after a chest day is completely different than the soreness in my back after a back day. What odd muscles, besides the obvious, are helping me push to the point of fatigue that are making me feel strange.
My lats are tender, but certainly not sore. It's just like one small muscle in my back... |

You may think your lats are "tender" when your serratus is worked. Other than that.. any scapular stabilizing muscle COULD be sore depending on what you were doing. If that's from benching, work on your technique.. pull the shoulder blades TIGHT together and slam them into the bench. Slide back, pulling your blades downward on your back, locking them tight in position. Pull your butt back far, rotating your hips forward and creating an arch in your back. Now your scapulae are stabilized by your SETUP and you can move big weights without all the stabilizing muscles working so hard to keep the scapulae from moving. :-)
