How discouraged do you get during a bad day?

But I was curious, do most of you get just as discouraged during a bad day? It feels like a cloud over my head for most of the day, usually by the next day I'm fine.

It annoys me straight after, but generally if i have a few sets where its not happening ill just up and go home. No point flogging a dead horse.
If it happens again the next session ill take a week off a lot of the time since im more than likely overtraining. In the grand scheme of things who cares? A bad session is a bad session, nothing to ruin your day about. |

yep- it happens. but, you can fix it. Simple stuff. if it's mental...you just have to change your perspective.
It could be something as simple as clapping a couple times...I don't mean golf claps...I mean..your favorite team just scored the winning tuoch down on Superbowl kind of clap. It will refocus what you are doing. Re-attack with a new attitude. If u didn't get enough sleep, food...wrong food...sometimes, external factors weigh in...if it's mental...change your attitude. If it's something else...do the best you can...get thru it and fix it for next workout. |

For years, I started all of my workouts with 1 of the big 3s: bench, deadlift, and squat. If any of those go wrong, the rest of my workout would suck balls. I have gotten pissed off and walked out before.
Now, I just roll with the punches. I have noticed that when one thing is bad, often times, something else improves. Just don't get all depressed, go home, and eat a half gallon of chunky monkey, and you should be fine. |

I'll spend 7 days and 7 nights wallowing in my own feces whilst starving myself ontop of a baron plateau. I will also spend every waking moment focusing on the travesties and injustices that go on in this world.
At the end of it all...I reflect and move on, towards better days of lifting, remembering that if - if I dare have another bad day, my suffering shall be 10 fold!!! |

ooh. so apparently that hasn't happened much recently then :/??..
...Aaanyway.. whether you get discouraged or not .. it doesn't make a difference to what needs to be done and why you're doing it at what pace or whether it dooes get done or not.. shit does happen.. accept it and when it comes know that you just have to eat it and keep doing shit anyway.. at the very least just be satisified you're going somewhere with some something. If you're not, then look at other areas of your life. that might not help but if you can see where you're going.. who cares what getting there looks like .Blooming tianshi lotus. |
