    side plank

i have heard that doing oblique exersices is not nessasary for bodybuilding (as opposed to powerlifting) and can actually be detrimental to a slim waist is this true?

I only do side planks, and bycicles as far as obliques go.

i know high intensity obliques stuff is considered bad for body building but what about this low intensity stuf?

Your obliques have practically zero growth potential, so don't sweat it. Just work on your core.
