    I love getting injured!

Yesterday I was benchpressing. And I know that is where my injury came from. Im almost 100% certain its from accidently bouncing the bar off my chest. About an hour after benchpressing, I noticed some pain in the middle of my chest...right in between my pecks. It hurts whenever I bend over or put pressure on it. What did I do? When will it go away? Should I stop lifting for awhile?

how do you accidently bounce the bar on your chest? that is a just a stupid fucking statement.

yes, stop lifting, give it rest. if it still hurts in a few days, go to the doctor. ice it.

Does it look like a simple bruise?

sounds like you injured your sternum. stop right away and rest for 2 months.

if you go to a GP, he/she will just tell you to rest for a while . go to a GP that is specialising in sports related injuries and ask him to refer you for a scan if you want to see exactly how bad is it.

Definitely go to a doc either way.

The pain is completely gone today. I just deadlifted and did my legs today and I felt no pain at all.

OK but that isnt the same thing is it? Really I would take P-funk's advice and not rush back into it. When you do try again - try with slow gentle wide grip press-ups BEFORE benching a lot of weight...
