Tips to find someone to lift with?

Wondering if you could help out. Seems like every gym I have been to in the Redmond/Renton/Seattle area has its share of hard core lifters who don't like talkin to anyone and the whiny guys who talk to everyone. I have found that I just can't pull myself to the gym to work out consistently by myself and my options have been to:

1. pay a trainer exhorbitant amounts of money
2. go with friends who are less reliable than the car I had in high school

So what works? Seems like anyone who lifts more than me already has a training partner and anyone who lifts less than me doesn't have the focus.

And don't get me started on CraigsList. Apparently someone to "work out with" is lingo that doesn't mean at the gym.

You aren't gonna like the answer...but you need to count on yourself to go solo.
True, its great to have someome counting on you to show up...but that's a crutch.
YOU have to WANT to go...
I've been on my own for a lot of years now...after you are at a gym for a while and get to know people...you can usually ask for a spot or to work in if that would be acceptable tothe others...

Success leaves clues. People who produce outstanding results do specific things to create those results

Looking for someone to work out with at the Capitol Hill Gold's. I'm kind of a beginner but have a good sense of what I'm doing. I can keep up with someone more experienced than me, and don't mind helping someone that might be just starting out.
Craigslist works fine if you state very clearly what you want and ignore the fags.

I posted in the activities section a few years ago and it worked out well. I did have to ignore a few fudge packers that couldn't handle the direct "heterosexuals only please" part of my ad.

Thats odd. I find lifting partners to be a distraction at best. Its harder to time rest intervals, schedules conflict, I have to constantly turn my mp3 player down to here what they are saying when they talk to me.

Learn to go solo. In the gym, I am the only person in the universe. Nothing exist but my me, my music, and the weight I am lifting.
