I cannot workout for 6 weeks because of exams. Is there any way I can maintain my muscle mass and strength? How do I make sure that when I hit the gym after 6 weeks I can lift the same amount of weights that I'm lifting now? :hmmm:

Keep you diet clean, eat plenty of protein, keep hydrated, stay rested, avoid alcohol, eat regularly, don't do heavy cardio etc.
Chances are you won't be able to lift the same, but your muscle memory should help alot. Even doing a basic full body once a week or two with heavy weight would help keep some strength.
You cant be 100% sure. If your body isnt using it, it will try to get rid of it.
Like Mista said, keep your diet in check. All those other things in the list are important aswell.
Concentrate on your exams. You can get muscle mass back, but you only have one shot at life - be smart.
You cant work out cuz of exams? I have exams and some shit kicking long ass assignment due every Friday. Plus, I always have to memorize plays and 2 minutes worth of performances. I work (part time), have a bar-blazing life, and I am now getting laid...
I got a B on my Anatomy exam and A on the Lab exam and I rule my other classes.
And I still workout 4 days a week.
You can't even do short lifts a couple of times a week to maintain?
What is your major, and how many hours a week do you work?
Computer science and engineering students have some of the horrid workloads. For the past 6 semesters I had to stop working out for at least 6 weeks at the end of the semester just to keep up, plus I usually work close to 40 hours a week at my job.
On topic: Like I just said, I usually have to do the same thing, and the combination of stress, not eating right; staying up all night on OTC speed wrecked my body. It’s tough to eat right when you haven't worked out in a while, plus stress tends to lead to no appetite or comfort food. Finals cost me 10lbs every semester. All I can say is try your best to eat right, get enough sleep, and try to get to the gym for a light full body workout once a week.
Good Luck With finals! :thumb:
Well I'd say you can do some simple things like push ups and stuff I really don't know what else besides what the guys already mentioned, but I read somewhere it is about every 8 days that your body starts to decline in something if you aren't using it. So you may lose a heck of a lot. Just all depends on what you do in those 6 weeks.
