    Plyometrics away from the gym?

I was interested in starting up some plyometric work to improve my vertical leap and noticed that most of the workouts don't really require any weight. Due to time constraints during the day, I can't stay in the gym too long during the day, I was wondering, would it be just as effective if I do plyometrics away from the gym later in the evening?

I don't think it would make any difference doing it out of the gym. The only one I could see is that the gym may have those step things people use for aerobics or boxes more easily available.

But you could either, but this sort of thing or substitute something else for them. Otherwise, a lot of pylos require no equipment. Go for it.

Basically you can do they anywhere with adquate space, they are to build explosive movement, and I'd recommend only doing them twice a week. They are good for building speed along with what you mentioned, vertical leap, anything you do with explosive movement, like throwing a baseball, shot put, or football ect, kicking a field goal ect. Pick a few stick with them and you'll see some serious results in about 9 weeks. Depending on the person you can increase 1-3 inches, although you do reach a plataue with plyos like anything else, but you have to stick with them to keep the results to. Goodluck man.

Yeah concrete will deteriorate your joints over time. And don't over do them, just about twice a week is fine.

Ditto. I have to walk on concrete all the time at work, and it's hell on your feet.

If there is a track and field somewhere near by you can do them there. I like to do plyos just before I run.
