    Overthinking my level of knowledge

Would the EPOC value be greater when using a tredmill vs. a bike given intensitys are the same?

Just curious if you would get more bang for your buck doing HIIT on a Tred or a stair mill vs a bike or an elliptical

Do whatever you feel comfortable with. Don't worry about EPOC, you can't quantify it properly anyway.

EPOC is dependend on intensity (intensiveness), not the type of cardio.

I think equipment using more muscles is more effective. I honestly don't like the bike unless it has to be used (Overweight populations for example) because you are sitting. That's the last thing people need to be doing when exercising.
The only time it's bad to feel the burn is when you're peeing...

I don't mind the bike for interval work. I also like the aerodyne bike a lot too.

To answer the original question though, intensity is intensity. If you are working at 80% of Max Heart Rate on the bike and you are working at 80% max heart rate on the treadmill, it is still 80% max heart rate. However, diferences in exercise economy/technique will change the way that your energy expenditure is working between the two exercises.
