    An arched spine can support much more weight and is a much stronger position to be in than a flat spine, it is also consequently safer. Keep that in mind with every exercise

    I now prefer Barbell Rows to Yates Rows, but you still must have atleast a small arch (athletic position, football position, etc.) in your back to avoid injury.
