i remember last year my freshman year for track i got crosscountry shoes which i think are what you call trail shoes and coach made me get normal running shoes so i had to return it also..

asics is the best company tho

i think if its trail since its softer on trail then concrete it has less padding so more impact on your knees with the trail shoes on concrete and running shoes have more padding thats what i noticed..

if its not too much trouble i would return it and just get running shoes

you can run on the street with the trail shoe. Trail shoes are just heavier and have a different tread (as well as some increased ankle support) to give you better traction on a surface that is ever changing (the trail) and not flat (like the street).

Your next blog post should be about what shoes you recommend wearing in the gym. I know it's a question I've pondered from time to time, especially this week, as I left my gym shoes at home and borrowed a pair of running shoes from my father and loved the extra support I had with them while squatting.

I'll try and get on that one when I have some time on New Years day. Right now, I have to root for the Titans so that the Browns can get into the playoffs.

All depends on your distances, weight, arch in your foot, surfaces and times you'll be running on those surfaces. Last year i ran my fastest 5K @ 18:45 at Lackland airforce base. I trained with trail running shoes for a month before race because they are heavier and then switched to Nike pegasus 2 weeks before to get my feet used to wearing them and i had great results. I would never wear trail runners for more than 3 miles though when running on concrete. Just my .02 cents
