so im at the gym yesterday and this guy asks me to spot him at the flat bench. at first i thought ok im just going to be spotting the barbell as usual. but to my surprise he asks me to place a 45 lb. plate on his shins and tells me to keep it balanced while he does the bench press. he says when you elevate the plate it hits your abs. i kept telling him this is really not good for you and all he kept saying was "it hits the core". i told him that by doing the bench press alone it works the core and asked him why is he trying to kill himself by incorporating ab work into this? im not a rocket scientist but im pretty sure bench pressing and ab work were designed to be seperate excersizes and should not be combined...
i actually looked on youtube to see if anyone else has done this. and wow i found a video of it. i was wondering if anyone on here actually does this in their routine....
this is soo retarted...
