My diet is great, my workouts are hard.
For a "cheat" day would alcohol (8-12 beers) be that harmful to my progess.
Currently I've been alcohol free but have the itch to party sometimes.
Thoughts?
It is up to you and the progress you desire. I don't see a problem with it.
Just some food for thought.

It depends on how your body reacts, but you should be fine. Remember to take the proper countermeasures after drinking.
As far as what Iain posted. That is true, but the body adapts to habit. Getting wasted twice a month is not habit. Sure it will have some affect but if you were quantify everything else that you do that had a similar affect you would see it does not really matter. Don't get a headache over it, no pun intended.
I still drink, but recently ive started turning to vodka to get me sloshed. It has fewer calories/carbs, and I feel much less bloated.
Still love beer though. It doesnt help that i just turned 19 and can get alcohol um..WHENEVER I WANT! WOO!!.... yeah thats gonna go away soon
Cheap filth. My roommate has me buy that shit for him all the time I can't handle the after effects. I can toss down everclear straight but I can't handle how MD makes me feel the day after.
I've heard that doctors take what people report they drink and times it by 3. Cops times it by double that. I'm thinking here you should times by at least 2 or more.
Do you feel a difference when you drink vs when you dont?
I cut back on drinking and my workouts improved greatly. It also makes a big difference if your taking supps that hurt your liver. If you're taking supplements that hurt your liver, then add the alcohol on top......you may be putting your liver through hell.
Id say drinking 1-2 times per week isnt terrible, but anymore definitely will hurt your training
