working lagging body parts 2x as often?

BODYBUILDING SUPPLEMENTS

Hey, I got pretty serious about my physique. So I pinpointed my weakest muscle groups and decided to work them twice as often as my better developed muscles. So for example, my forearms are small, and I'm working them on the days when I do arms and also I do them after my chest workout. Is this a good approach? Anybody got something better?

What does your program look like?

Its a mistake to think more work = more results. It may be that you're working them TOO much and thats what is inhibiting their growth.

Well, to be blunt, I'm on a very modest 500 calories per day cut. So I don't really expect any growth, however, I do expect increases in strength. The program looks like ...well, it's a roughly three week cycle. I'm a soccer player, so aside from a special emphasis on legs, I try to have 3 soccer training sessions every 2 weeks.

Legs
Chest+forearms
-off

Soccer training+abs
Back+traps (and rear delts)
Stationary bike cardio
-off

Arms
Legs
-off

Shoulders
Soccer training+abs
Stationary bike cardio
-off

Chest+forearms
Legs
Traps, rear delts, abs (all weak bodyparts)
-off

Arms
Soccer training+abs

I hope to god you mean you're reducing your calories by 500, and not eating 500 in total a day?

Yum..ya? I'm stretching it out over 12 weeks. I should arrive at 8% b/f @ 187lbs by March 25th. I'm consuming 3,000 calories daily with a 50 % carb/30 % protein, 20% fat ratio.

If you're cutting, im not so sure increases in strength will happen, simply because you arent taking in as much energy from food.

As for your program, have you considered switching from a bodypart split to something like Upper/Lower, or fullbody workouts? You might find that change will stimulate some gains.
