|
lower back pain when doing sprints
This past couple of weeks I've been working hard to get in basketball shape, so here is the problem: recently I've been sprinting hard, and my back seems to be getting tight at the end of my sprints. I also strech before every sprint, but the problem persists. HELP

1) check hip flexor tightness
2) look at sprint technique and pelvic position 3) look at overal gait mechanics 4) assess soft tissue quality 5) monitor volume and intensity of sprints 6) make sure there is sufficient rest between work bouts 7) don't sprint 100% all the time (just like lifting, you wouldn't hit 1RMs everytime you are in the gym). 8) look at overall training program (running and lifting) 9) make sure that you have reached a level of preparation that allows you to carry out the work you are trying to do |

I had a lower back injury when I was a teen (I had it because I overdid the Air Alert program when I was trying out for my highschool basketball team), So im sure that has something to do with it. Also I should check my form when doing squats, but back don't bother me when doing this particular excersise.
