Need help getting back to where i was (b4 university)

Basically during the summer before highschool i was in the best shape i ever was, i peaked at a weight of 225 lbs and got down to 203 in my gr12 year along with a lot of muscle mass etc. Then came the horrors of university. Now it wouldnt have been so bad, the weight gain that is, but i jus fucking let myself go, im in engineering, and i really didnt have much time for workout, i did what i could, hitting the gym twice a week, with focus on cardio. But when midterms and finals came around i just couldnt hold my own, i jus bouight fast food, subway, a&w, chinese whenver, because time is a factor to me, and i couldnt be bothered with making stuff. Of course i ate the occasional salad etc.

The aftermath is my weight is back to 220lbs, i feel like shit, pants tighter, depressed from what i lost, uni stole my life, etc. I only have a month and a half till im outta this hell hole. Was wondering, i really want to get back in shape, try to hit 195lbs in a month and half time. Ill have 4 months off, but i want to lose as much in a month and a half as possible.

Diet- i kno how huge this is, ill probably be going on a 4 meal thing with lower amounts of carbs better fats etc, higher protein intake etc.

Training - hmmm i still wanna workout, but is it advisable to focus heavily on cardio?

basically was wondering what i should go about to acccomplish my goals. I just feel so depressed about my weight, i really need to get back to where i was ASAP. So i figure someone here will give me some good advice. I could probably lose weight myself, but i wouldnt kno how to do it as fast as possible. Is it possible to drop 20lbs within a months time instead?

    thanks in advance.

Healthily you're gonna be looking at 1lb a week, so no - 20lbs in a month isnt advisable.

Manage your diet - count your calories, eat little and often, eat a range of healthy foods, stay away from very calorie dense things like fast food.

A combination of cardio (high intensity, and also some low intensity for active recovery) and weight training is the best for most goals to be honest, so id go with that.

Try a fullbody 2 or 3 times a week weight training split, add some HIIT in there aswell. Personally i do weights twice a week, and a mixture of high and low intensity cardio 2 or 3 times a week. Make sure you leave adequate rest though, i still manage 3 or 4 days rest with all that.

But yeah, like you say - diet is the big decider. No matter what you do in the gym, if your diet doesnt lend itself to healthy weight loss its not going to matter.

YSK, that is very common to have that happen with the stress of college, not eating correctly and basically being so busy. Don't let it get you down.

It happens but you now are wanting to change. Sometimes depression can be a motivator. We are all here to help you with ideas suggestions etc.

Take a look at what Gazehole wrote. It is GREAT! It may not be sexy with 20 different supplements listed but it DOES work.

Keep a log here and add to it every day. It will help you and BELIEVE me for everyone who posts here they are having a tough time of it with weight there are another 100 who read and get ideas but do not post.

YSK, your log could be an inspiration to A LOT of people, myself included so come on man get going!

you are only able to lose 2 lbs max per week if you have been training for a long time , shoot for that while gaining a little bit of muscle mass (since you haven't been lifting for a while you'll gain some back) ...
