    Squats, Bulgarian squats, and others

Hey guys. Do you have a favorite squat routine?

I've recently included regular squats into my routine, starting low weight to get the form right. But I've also talked to some of my gym buddies about Bulgarians. I've seen them done, and I think they complement regular squats by stressing the hams and glutes rather than the quads.

I think I'm goin to include these (if I can figure out how to get the f**ing balance skills down, I'm like a ship in a storm!).

Anyone have any opinon on Bulgarians or other types of squats to complement regulars?

Start with lunges before you begin Bulgarians. Once you improve your balance Bulgarians will be a piece of cake.

    My Favorite Squat Routine.

    * Keep RIs between supersets to 2 minutes

    3 supersets of this:

    Squat
    225 x 10 | 100 Jump Ropes | 225 x 10 | 100 Jump Ropes - that's one superset

(by now you are sweating like a pig)

    3 supersets of this:

    Straight Leg Deads
    225 x 10 | 100 Jump Ropes | 225 x 10 | 100 Jump Ropes

You are done in about 20 minutes or less.

OK, I hear the message. You think that lunges lead the way to Bulg's? I see the logic .. but I never considered lunges. Hmm you've given me something to think about (if the brain has anything to do with it!)

    Thanks, guy!

hes right. get you balance down before you try split squats or you will look stupid falling every rep.

    Leg Day
    Squat 3x10
    Bulgarian Split squat 3x8
quads are done after this and Bulgarians hit the butt real nice

For reg squats I like 2 sets of increasing weight warm ups and three big sets for 5-8 reps. Later in the workout I do three sets of front squats. I'm not Bulgarian but I think this guy must be >>>
