    Weight Gain?

    G'day all,
I would like to know what would be the perfect weight to bodybuild at.
Im 24, 82kgs, and 189 centimeters tall. I was advised to bulk up 95 kilos. Is this necessary to do?
Iv brought myself a bio bulker and I will be training three days in the gym.
    Cheers
    Mick

This is a rather odd question.

Bodybuilding is about constant improvement. Bodybuildining is pretty much about becoming as muscular as possible. Whatever you want to reach is good for you, there are no set guidelines for how much you should weigh. People's physiques fill out different and can look much different at the same height/weight.

Did you mean bulk up 95 kilos or bulk to 95 kilos? I'll assume the latter. Regardless of how long you have been training adding 13 kg is quite alot of weight. Don't set your goals so far in advance.

What do you mean to train at? Do you mean getting to 95 kg and just stay there, to body build at? That makes no sense. You would be body buildining in the process to get to 95 kg. Do you mean something else besides body building? Like powerlifting or olympic weight lifting?

I think the advice you've had is unfit really. When you train, if you have calorific excess in your diet and lift heavy, you will put weight on. Some of that will be muscle and likely some of that will be fat.

Most people then tend to go through phases of 'bulking and cutting' which you can read about in the stickies.

I would recommend reading up on those first and maybe by yourself a copy of the book 'Brawn' to get some good advice.

I certainly wouldnt pile on loads of fat prior to training - you might have been told that 'fat turns into muscle' which is a myth in itself in the same way as some people think if you stop training 'muscle turns into fat' - those two things happening are about as likely as your liver turning into kidneys, they are different parts of the body.

Hope this helps - and good luck
I'm 34 - when am I officially an old fart?

Gain weight to 95 kg and then bulk? Lol?
As jonny said, muscle does not turn into fat. If you wanna gain weight and size, start eating clean and work out hard.

    No problem.

Gaining muscle mass (weight) is the goal of bodybuilding, so I won't argue with that advice.
