Exclamation Need new routine

BODYBUILDING SUPPLEMENTS

Not there is anything wrong with my current routine but I was thinking about trying a new routine and I was leaning towards a push/pull type of routine that would be 4 to 5 days doing legs twice a week. Any idea's?
My old routine has been good and I will go back to it somewhere down the road but I'm bored with it. Thanks

There's loads of routines posted under the 'lets all post our routines and liven up this board' post. Go there and check them out. Mix and match and find out what 'excites' you...

I'll type a good one when i feel like it...

Red face

I posted this on "lets all post our routines" and I like it but it's time for something new. Anyway this is my old routine
Mon Chest/Back
Tues Legs/ Cardio
Wed Shldrs/Arms
Thurs off
Fri Legs/ Cardio
Sat Back/Shldrs/arms Light-high reps
Sun Off

This is what I came up with for now
Mon Push-Chest/shldrs/tri's
Tues Legs/cardio
Weds off
Thurs Pull Back/Biceps/Shldrs
Fri off
Sat Legs/ Cardio
Sun off

Let me know what you think, I just have to work legs twice a week.

Yes, why do you do legs twice a week?
I think if done with high intensity, once a week is enough.

I also wouldn't do Cardio after legs and I would also take the day after legs off.

If anything, you could do Calves 2 times a week as well as arms and abs but with proper intensity, once should be enough.

Why twice? Two reasons both of which are not good but I like to do squats and leg presses but not on the same day. I mix up everything else except calves which I do both leg days. Lunges on one day, leg extensions on the other. The second reason is I just plain like it! As long as my knee's allow me to do this I will.
If you notice on my new routine I do allow for a day of rest after legs. I disagree with not doing cardio after Legs, I discovered by accident by doing this I am not near as sore, I came home and mowed the lawn once right after doing legs.
I also disagree with everything having to be high intensity and low volume or it's no good. I like just the opposite. I suppose it all depends on what your goals are too.

Sorry, should have asked your goals, I guess I always assume people are here to gain muscle mass.
Your routine is fine, the only change I'd make is to do shoulders only once a week as they get worked while doing chest and back so realy they're already getting worked more than once.
Good luck.

Scotty the body,
Why do you think my goal is to not gain muscle, because I like high volume? What I meant by depends what your goals are is that
I don't train to compete, but for my own enjoyment and to gain muscle.
I took the previous work out routine from Dave Draper's web site who to this day endorses high volume training,a former Mr. America,Mr World ,and Mr Universe. Arnold used to train 6 days a week twice a day.
Thanks for your advice and I'll keep it in mind.

The guys you mentioned were juiced, high volume training doesn't work as well for mass
building if your a nat.

I'm not trying to tell you you won't gain muscle, its just not the best way to do it.

Scotty the Body,

I have to be honest and tell you I have never tried HIT training and before I rule it out maybe I should. I checked out your routine and it looks do able. One last question, can I still get in a fourth day and do cardio only?

Nothing wrong with adding Cardio, the problem I'm having right now is I was doing to much cardio and wasn't gaining any muscle mass, its hard to build muscle and stay cut at the same time.
I think if your over weight and trying to get cut and add muscle, its possible but if your lean and want to add muscle, ITS A BITCH!

I've had to cut cardio totally out and its killing me cause I'm one of the strange ones that actually likes cardio but its the only way I can keep the muscle (protein) I'm putting on. I'll worry about cutting later.

Good luck Harms, you'll have to try it for yourself, just keep track of your weight and BF to make sure your progressing.
