what % of bodyweight for pushups

I was wondering, what percentage of your bodyweight are you lifting when you do pushups? Does it vary how wide your hands are spread or does that just work different parts of the chest?

It mostly depends on how far tipped forward you are. For instance if you press up against a wall (leaning on a wall) then not much - but if you put your feet up on a chair then more than a normal press.

Varying the width will vary the usage ratio between triceps and pecs - the wider the press the more pec usage - as I understand it.
I'm 34 - when am I officially an old fart?

Far less than 100% unless you're doing handstand pushups.

You can figure that out but you can't add 90 and 90 together?

It has been pretty obvious for a while now that Danny81 is not who he pretends to be.

It's going to vary a lot based on how your weight is distributed throughout your body, your height, your hand positioning, etc. Either weigh yourself and figure it out, or don't worry about it because I can't see the importance of it.
