    wrist pain?

I just started having a sharp pain in both my wrists, but it's only on the days I work biceps. My wrists are very skinny...genetics I guess. It hasn't been an issue in the past, but it's rather painful these days. Has anyone else had any pains similar to this.

depends on the day. I'm utilizing the power, rep, shock workout. Exercises include alt.DB curl, cable curls, barbell curl (really hurts), preacher curl, concentration curls. I usually do 3 of these exercises depending on which day and week it is.

i've got fairly skinny wrists too and used to have the same problem.

i found that i needed to work on my grip strength first. once i did that my muscles took more of the load instead of my wrist joints.

I was thinking straight bar too, cut it out and see what happens. Are you going heavy?

Take a joint supp, dont do anything that aggravates that area, work on flexibility, work on grip strength.

Right now, if it hurts when you're out of training - rest it up for a few days and ice it frequently.

Its worth noting what the guys above said about grip strength too - it does make a difference. That way you may be able to return to straight bar one day.

On the subject of pains I occasionally have a dull pain in my forearm, along the ulna. Mostly when doing EZ curls, so I have stopped doing those altogether. Now the pain can start almost any time when doing some physical activity that may require a curling type of movement.

Any ideas? Suggestions? I mean beyond "Stickies."

you definatly have a bigger problem. if it didn't go away after stopping EZ curls and its actually gotten worse, get to the doc or a PT

yeah..give up on the curls all together for a week or so and see if it goes away. If it does, it was just inflammation..if it hurts your wrist and your forearms when curling..it's connective tissue weakness. If it's actual PAIN..then see a doc first. Could be possible longterm wear and tear on the joints, possible calcium deposits, etc.

my wrists used to just be sore as hell from benching wiht a "monkey" grip...and using wrist straps like those found on prowriststraps.com fixed that IMMEDIATELY! I can't do barbell curls without wrist straps to keep my wrist straight and solid. Maybe all you need is a little extra support!

try just laying off the curls for awhile and see if it subsides...if it doesn't..see the doc and go from there.

I have very thin wrists too, about 6 and 3/4" I use wrist wraps whenever I squat over 225, and on most barbell pressing movements as well.

Barbell curls sometimes bother my wrists, so I take a grip that's fairly narrow, about shoulder width or just inside and that seems to help.

just back off doing curls for a week or so and it should subside..

then go to APT Pro Gear - Bodybuilding Weight Lifting Powerlifting Strongman and pick out any pair of straps APT has to offer and it will most definately keep it from coming back while doing curls. It sure did for me.. I can't do barbell curls without them killing my wrist. I put on my convict pro's and I cna do it all day.
