Would this be overtraining or not?

Ok. Im doing mark rippetoes routine 3x a week. anyone that doesnt know what it is its basically everything is 3x5 squat 3x a week alternate bench and overhead press each workout and alternate power clean and deadlift each workout. I do alot of MMA training along with it and during these workouts we do alot of pushups, situps, etc would doing these effect we negativley?

It could, yes, but it is best to see how you react. If you are progressing then all is good. If not, cut the volume back a bit. Do you compete in MMA, or just do it as a hobby? What is more important to you?

Ok, then do as I mentioned. If you feel like you are progressing in the gym and it is not interfering with your MMA, then continue. If you are not progressing or feel it is messing with your MMA then cut the volume in half. I would also suggest you do not train to failure. Leave 1-2 reps in the tank. You want to build strength in the gym, not fry yourself.

Based on your other posts, yes you are overtraining imo. Between MMA training, weight lifting, cardio, and anything else, you are giving your body very little time to recover.

Take a week off of weightlifting but continue training MMA. I will be willing to bet that your numbers will go up when you come back after a rest.

No gym for home, work out floor with 30, but is it for 20 like 30 lb when you no lift it to be for men, for 30 lbs instead? or half is 10 for 20 pounds?

Maybe it's because, as you've hinted in the majority of your posts relating to training, you focus and inordinate amount of attention on your upper body?

    I'm sure that's it.

Why are you using quotation marks on stuff that's not a quote?

I'm disappointed you focused on the quotation marks but missed the incorrect usage of "then". Are you slipping?

OK, I thought you were going to type properly. "Quotation marks" and bolding are part of typing properly.

I feel sorry for your legs!!!! HELL YEAH YOUR OVER TRAINING THEM!!!! You have to figure you use your legs for everything in MMA, you need to be running, then the wrestling uses you legs, you even use your legs throughing punches plus pushing yourself "hard" (i guess) on squats three times a week, when you use them constantly anyway. When do they get somewhat of a brake? I think you need to read up on "MMA" workouts, and find yourself a damn coach and quit going around doing crazy crap!!!! Especially if you want to go "pro" FIND A COACH!!!! And if you say you have one, he must not be worht anything, I wouldn't use him because you sound like your running around blind in the gym. just my 2 cents

Most mma/boxing coaches dont know how to weight train.

Most just tell you to do pushups and situps everyday and thats it.

It's not that they do not know weight training, it hurts the fighter!! And you want to be a fighter? Ok, Bulk slowes you down and you will tire out quicker, there for no real need to spend alot of time on it. Strength training yes, you can include that with your MMA training, but you need to base everything off what is going to help you perform. You need flexibility, conditioning things like that. I read it earlier today, this website is about bodybuilders not fighters!! Most peoples goals on here are to get huge, so they do not focus much on the cardio. Cardio is a huge part of a fighter!!! (not weights) Don't think you know more than the coaches, they are coaches for a reason even the pro's use them. With out a good TEAM you will not be a good fighter. Fighters are puppets, coaches are pulling the strings!!!! Besides three sets of five, your trying to bulk?? Not smart for a fighter, CIRCUIT TRAIN and INTERVALS. And most importantly, FIGHT TRAINING!!!

Do a circuit typ work out like sprints, active rest (sprawl drills), mitt training (for a fight round 5 min), active rest, squat jumps, active rest, bag training (fight round), active rest, then roll with someone (fight round), active rest, then start all over and do that about five times. And you can do something like that three times a week. On other days you can figure in some weights, high reps short rest periods 30 seconds or less

Im At Work So I Cant Go On Youtube, But When I Get Home Ill Find The One I Think He Is Talking About, There Are A Few Of Them. But One Video Shows He Was A Bad Dude In The Day. I Dont Think I Ever Seen A Guy At The Size He Was With The Hand Speed He Had!!! It Shows His Drills, Damn He Was Quick!!! I Think If Gus Never Died And He Stayed Focused He Would Have Been A Very Dominant Fighter For Alot Longer Than He Was!
