    Shake before or after??

I've put on about 8 pounds since I've started lifting, but don't really do any cardio. I want to start running after I lift, but should I take a shake before I run or just wait until I finish running to take my PWO shake????

When I lift I generally begin sipping during warmup and then finish it throughout and at the end.
The only time it's bad to feel the burn is when you're peeing...

Either way is fine. If you feel like having the shake in your tummy before you run wouldn't sit well, do it after. Cowpimp's got the right idea - or even sip it while you train, so you don't feel so "empty" by the time you start your cardio.

yeah i take it afterwards...my fat ass hates running. the last thing i want to do is urp up a shake. I typically eat or take a shake an hour or so before a workout and then after all the work is done. Usually follows the plan of steak and a naked baked potato before... and a NITREAN shake from ALN after.

It's never fun to down a shake and then hit the treadmill at an intense rate, unless you want to puke of course.

I dont think a sensible amount of cardio will hurt - 20-30 minutes - if you're planning on doing a lot though, possibly build cardio into your routine on maybe what would have been a rest day?

I nearly threw up once...lesson learned.

I usually take mine after a workout. I have some veggies, some other healthy nutrients about 20+ mins before to give me that energy to lift and then shake time after workingout.

Your going to be best served by drinking a mix of BCAA & Glutamine immrdaiate post weight training. After your cardio, have your shake & carbs

Don't you just find the glutamine is a waste of cash though? And there are BCAAs in whey. Why not just use food?

Breakfast and protein shake 1-1.5 hours pre...intraworkout drink with necessary supps, then immediately after workout another protein shake and a natty PB sandwich on whole grain, some turkey or tuna, banana, and walnuts. Rinse, repeat, day after day!! Fuck I hate protein sometimes!!!!

Some days it just feels like my body says " one more bite of protein, I will make you wear it!!" Not many days, just a few here and there. Probably mental. Chicken seems to be the one that makes me feel that way. Last few bites of chicken at some dinners are a freaking chore to choke down.

Don't you know how to cook so it tastes delicious?

yeah if you take a protien supplement... bcaa's are already in it.

Put the shakes down post workout immediately after when your body puts it to use the best i'm told. I love taking NITREAN right after my workout..it's hte only shake I've taken that hasn't make me want to puke all over the interior of my truck. In all honesty..i don't think it matters when you take it just as long as you're getting a constant supply of fuel to your body.

You like the taste of Nitrean hey? I tried all the flavours and I just didn't much care for 'em. Hubby either.

The chocolate is tolerable. The strawberry tasted like ass IMO. Vanilla I could force down but didn't enjoy. Good quality protein though - to me it's just a taste thing. The only one I ever liked the taste of was ON rich chocolate, but then I hardly use any protein powder anyway. We just get it for my husband.

i dunno ma'am I LOVE the chocolate..i can't get enough of it. Reminds me of chocolate malts! HAHA make anything chocolate and it's a sure way to get me to take it!

i personally lvoe the strawberry when it's mixed with the chocolate and put into milk. Tastes fantastic! never tried the vanilla though... I was an ON person before I started using NITREAN.. They taste similar to me but then again i'll eat anything you put infront of my face. The number one seller for me besides the taste was the fact that it blends SO smoothly with milk where ON clumped up all the time. ALN's nitrean busts up after a few stirs no problem. I like to drink my protien..if i'm going to chew it..it better have been moo'n ten minutes ago.

Ooooh I'm with you on the moo'n. I love me a rare steak. How does that go - wipe the ass, sear the horns or something like that lol!

I don't have room enough in my calories to drink milk AND protein powder. Maybe that's why I don't care for the taste. I mix mine in water - so does hubby. He takes protein with dextrose dry in a shaker cup on mountain bike rides for the end of the ride so he can make it home without murdering someone. No way to store milk in a hot backpack for four hours! It is a good quality product though the Nitrean. Fast and slow protein. I wish I liked the taste more.
