    Pre-surgery workout

Ok, I need some help. I recently found out I have stage 1 pre-colon cancer and quickly need to have surgery before it turns into full blown cancer. I am scheduled for surgery in two weeks and will be out from lifting 2 to 4 weeks, I am guessing.

I have been doing a push/legs/pull routine usually not working out more than 2or 3 days in a row. But, I want get as much lifting as I can before the surgery. So far, I have lifted 4 days in a row and feel great. I want to keep lifting every day for the next 14 days - is this a mistake?

It all depends on the workload IMO.

If you're doing 50 sets per day, after 14 consecutive days of weight training you probably wouldn't be able to move for 2-4 weeks, regardless of surgery.

If you're doing 20 sets per day, you might be able to manage.

Wait until somebody else responds, I suck.

Surely you'd want to save your body's recovery abilities to stop the cancer? If you're working out non stop for two weeks your energy levels, recovery, sleep patterns, and pretty much everything else is going to be fucking shot.

Not exactly the kind of condition you want, cancer or not.

This should be a no brainer, man.

Now that you mention how drained he's going to be leading up to his surgery, I concur.

I still think it is possible to workout daily, so long as spacing/volume and a plethora of other factors are perfect.

Yes that is a big mistake! Stay active but don't train 18 days in a row, you body will be in a very vunerable state.

Ok, I think you all brought me back to reality! I hate the idea of not lifting for a extended period of time and losing hard earned gains though, but....So, I will try to not lift more than a few days in a row, but the temptation will be there to lift rather than rest if I feel good.
