Craig's List. You can find used equipment in your and don't need to worry about shipping costs like you would buying on eBay.
Every used piece of equipment that I've ever purchased had barely any use.
i'm thinking about getting equipment to start working out at home.
obviously the first think i'll get is a bench and squat rack with some DBs.
but any advice on how i should go about getting the EQ? what are the major component's i'll need and what's the best place/website to order them from?

hmm, good idea. i need to be able to to the major lifts/pulls with my equipment.
bench press
rack pulls
squats
are the main things i need to be able to do with the rack.
is there a single rack that i can do all of those on? space in my apartment and of course money are factors i'm dealing with.

Yeah, but that cage takes up a lot of space. Would you have the room for it?
I have a squat rack with pegs low enough to bench from, and I use jack stands for rack pulls and Romanian Dead-lifts.

My squat rack is MPEX and my bench is TSA (Total Sports America). I think they're no-name brands, but they do the job just fine.
I was looking for a picture of my squat rack and look what I found on Craig's List for $200. I don't know if it's still available or not.

just make sure that you have a good basement or garage to put it into.
you could also ask trojannation, or stewart20, stewart can give you great advice on what to do when you have to move after acquiring all the your equipment.lol
