    Aesthetic Question

My right trap is more developed than that of my left trap. What can i do to even this out? Obviously work the left more than the right.. but seems kinda tricky to me. Can someone give exercises and tips?

    Thanks!

Dumbell shrug just on the side thats smaller (but hold one of the same weight on the other side so you're balanced) ?

thats all I can think of right now.

when one trap appears larger than the other, or one shoulder appears more raised than than the other....the question should not be "what can i do to even it out".....but rather "why is this happening?" This can be for several reasons and you would need to look at everything from the foot and ankle, to pelvic rotation to activities of daily living. things happen for a reason.

I think its because of doing overhead presses with the smith machine and overhead press machine that my right side pushes more of the weight. I've since switched to only doing free weight overhead presses. Thats really the only thing i can think of that could of caused this problem. Just trying to rectify it now.

How bad is it? My first guess is that it's mental.

No its certainly not mental. I was completely unaware of it until other people brought it to my attention. They were asking if I had hurt my left shoulder.. I told them no.. and they said you have an imbalance, put me in front of a mirror and pointed it out. I'm not sure how to answer how bad it is.. pretty subjective. Seems its evident to the casual viewer. I think it was caused by doing overhead presses on the smith machine.. overcompensating with the right shoulder. I do free weight movement strictly now.

I think we're going to need a front, side and back comparison picture to be of any good use.

When doing shrugs, is your right shoulder stronger?
Same for unilateral overhead dumbell presses.

To be fair, my off the cuff advice earlier should probably be discarded considering what P-funk has said. And even though photo's would satisfy curiosity at this end - I think getting yourself in front of a Physio would be a wise move.
