    Sqauat Form

I am sure this question has been asked before...

I have been doing squats for about 6 months and initially made very good gains, but they have leveled off now. I have been doing them where I come down to 90 degrees, then back up.

Today, I went way past 90 degrees and I really felt it and liked the burn all through my quads, hams and gluts. However, I could only squat approx. half the weight I am used to. I could care less what the weight is, I just want to improve - no ego thing here.

I am very much considering staying with the deeper range of motion as long as I don't feel any discomfort and I believe the gains will come faster and I will eventually be able to handle more weight.

    What say you all?

ATG is optimal for growth from what I have read, so go for it.

I am going to stay with going as deep as I can (including intercourse as well, of course) with my squat form even if I have lift lighter weights for a while. I believe, in the long term, I will get better results. I can really feel it today. The soreness feels great!

Thanks everyone. I have my colon surgery coming up in a week so I will have to lay off for a while.

I find going past parallel very uncomfortable myself - but my progression has been consistent and I've had good growth in the legs so I dont sweat it.
I'm 34 - when am I officially an old fart?
