    Training on on hard surfaces

    I'm gonna be going out soon to begin my new routine. I'm gonna be doing my drills outside (sprinting and stuff) on the roads outside of my house. My neighbourhood is calm and relaxed so cars will not be a problem. My only question is whether training on a hard surface will result in joint injuries?

    I've been told loads of times that training on hard surfaces is bad for your joints, but in my case there is nothing better to find.

    Sprinting on any surface will take its toll eventually. Try to find a local track to run on, it'll serve your knees much better.

    Be careful on grass if it is wet.

    Depends largely on how much you run and with what form. Short, good-form sprints won't hurt you too much, but running a marathon will wreck your joints.

    Also, you should get good quality shoes.

    what is the "other stuff" you speak of besides the sprinting? if you say plyos on concrete, my head will explode.
