I was researching a bit on websites and forums about 5x5 routines. I've done Bill Starr's routine a couple of times and wanted to try something similar but not exactly the same. What I saw was that a lot of people were recommending when designing a 5x5 routine, start out with one of the compound exercises to do, and then choose 2-3 assistance exercises for 3x8-10 reps. Never tried this before and wanted to get some feedback on what some of you thought.
I have been doing 5 x 5 for over two months now, and the progress has been noticeable. I thoroughly enjoy the brutal workouts and the ensuing gains, (strength more than mass).
